I thought that this was a relatively enjoyable watch. There was nothing that I could say specifically piqued my interest, but there wasn't anything that made me dislike watching it. The dance numbers were well choreographed, the music was relatively catchy, and the costumes were well designed and pleasant to look at. I would have to say that my favorite song was when the scarecrow was found. I loved the complexity of the crows and how the costumes managed to hold up while doing dances and mock flying. The song was pretty good as well, I found myself tapping my foot during this number. The acting for the most part left a little to be desired though. I thought that at some points it could really use some work, but also that there were some phenomenal acting moments. In particular, the TinMan comes to mind. His robotic dances/movement was always awesome, and the moment when Dorothy met him was genuinely incredibly impressive. The fact that he could produce such robotic movements while also being human in a sense takes a ridiculous amount of skill and practice. If I had to say a favorite character for me it is definitely the Tin man, every single scene involving him had me genuinely engaged and really had me focused on the scenes with him, more so than the ones focusing on the lion, the scarecrow, or dorothy. Overall though, I would say that this isn't a movie i would watch again, just because i'm not a huge fan of the wizard of Oz as a while, but it was an enjoyable watch overall. 7.1/10

The Boy and the Heron follows the story of Mahito, the son of a factory owner whose mother died in a fire when he was a young boy. Two years after, his father marries his Mothers sister, and impregnates her with a child, of which Mahito learns when he arrives in her town and meets her for the first time. It is at his new mothers home that Mahito meets the main supporting character, the Heron. He tells Mahito that “his presence is requested”, and shortly after Mahito is taken to another dimension(dreamlike world) where he is trying to find his new mother Kiriko, and bring her back home. Several hijinks occur involving little marshmallow fellas called the Warawara, a run-in with a civilization of huge talking parakeets, and the Parakeet king just being a general nuisance. All of this culminates into Mahito finding the “God” of this realm and learning that he wants Mahito to stay there and become the new God of the realm, to which he denies. Soon after this the entire world starts crumbling down, and Maihito, the Heron, his mother, the fire girl, and all of the parakeets escape from the dimension, returning to the real world. I really really really enjoyed this movie. This was the first studio Ghibli film that I have ever seen, and I feel like it probably isn't the best in terms of a first movie, but it is still incredible nonetheless. I was expecting to be confused during the film, due to it being a Miyazaki movie, but it wasn't confusing to the point where I could not understand what was happening. The plot felt well paced, and I never thought “man… When is this going to end? " On top of this, the voice acting was incredible as well. As someone that heavily prefers watching Subtitled anime compared to Dubbed anime, this was a rare case of a simply incredible dub. I could really feel that each VA put their heart and soul into their roles, and the voices fit each character perfectly, with the exception of Mahitos, which I felt could have sounded a little bit less childish. Now, I cant write a post about a Studio Ghibli film and not talk about one key aspect that each and every movie by this studio shares… other than Earwig, and that is the downright jaw dropping animation. Every single frame in this movie shows a ridiculous amount of effort being put into each inch of color, every cell of animation, each background/character/set piece has an incredible amount of detail and visual appeal. This is one of the most visually stunning movies that I have ever seen, coming only second to the spider verse films, but that is in a category of its own. This is a movie that I feel would get better with each and every rewatch, finding little nuanced tidbits of information, being able to analyze little details in each scene, and coming to love each and every character more and more. That's another thing too, the characters. I find it a struggle to find a single character, main or side, that I really disliked. They all just oozed personality and charm, and really served a purpose in the story. I would have to say my favorite is the collection of Grannies and Grandpas near the beginning of the story though. They are so full of character and act as if they are a group of children, despite being quite far in their years. All in all though, it feels criminal to give this movie anything less than a 9.2/10 I thought that this movie was fine. It was better than some movies that I had seen, but I think i needed to read the book to really understand what was happening beoferr i watched the movie. I was half asleep during most of the film, but I enkjkoyed the premise/idea of the film with the whole " planet made ofdrugs" idea. I thought the acting was really good too, Timothy Chalamet's performance was a step above what I was expecting. overall, 6.8/10
This movie was really really really good. I think that this is an extremely good movie, especially if your a person that loves suspense and a lot of twists. This movie kept me on the edge of my seat throughout the entire film, I could never guess what was gonna happen next. Plus the casting was really good aswell. The writing left a little bit to be desired, but overall this movie was great. 9/10
This movie was pretty ok. I really enjoyed the animation style, and I thought that some of the side characters were pretty funny aswell. Kamek's voice was such a perfect fit for him aswell, it really embodied the "Nerd" stereotype. Plus, Jack Black played the role of Bowser perfectly! I could care less about Chris Pratt's preformance, but the voice for Luigi was great too. The pacing felt good throughout the movie, and the Kongs were a great collection of characters too.
