Now this is a movie that I have seen many many years ago, and it was hands down one of my favorite movie(s) as I was growing up. And upon re watching it, I can say that it still holds up. IT is just such a gorgeous movie even 13 years after its release. The plot was still so endearing and the characters were just as lovable as ever. And the flight scenes, god don't get me started on how beautiful they were. Plus, I love Scottish accents and this movie was choc full of them. Hiccup remains one of my favorite protagonists to this day, and Toothless is as adorable as ever. 9.2/10

This was probably the weakest movie out of the Kubrick films that I have seen, but that doesn't make it a bad movie in the slightest. I wasn't a huge fan of the opening 20 mins of monkeys being monkeys, until the beginning where the obelisk appeared which kinda startled me a bit. However this scene does lead into one of the best match cuts of all time, the bone flying in the air to the space station. I really thought that this movie had some great spectacle elements to it, but after watching the shining, clockwork orange, and eyes wide shut, it really doesn't stand up as well in my opinion. 6.6/10
Just like Clockwork orange, this movie is weirddddd, more so than clockwork. I did enjoy it at times, but it really felt slow throughout the beginning of the movie, and it really felt like the dialogue was dragging on and not really going anywhere at times. The ritual scene was really really really weird, but it was shot beautifully. The whole mask concept was pretty cool aswell. overall id give it a 6/10. just because It was so so so strange.
I'm gonna be honest, this movie felt like a fever dream. I think this might be the most strange, random, and just downright confusing movies I have ever seen. Between the atmosphere, the milk bar, down to the characters themselves, this movie is just filled with curious oddities. I think Alex is such a strange character throughout the whole story, going from a psychopathic thief/hoodlum, to a prison inmate that has been "reformed" thought God, back to a psychopathic individual in society, who cant experience violence without having heaving outbursts. I really don't know how to feel about this movie, but I will say it kept me intrigued and kept my attention the whole way through. 7.5/10
just because I feel like i either need to read a deep dive on the movie itself, or rewatch it a few times. |
